Winter Wonderland!!

Well, as much as it is a sure is pretty!! It snowed here over the weekend but not too much and it just slowly melted. Early this AM we woke to chatty patty (lily in her crib) and lightening and thunder...oh and SNOW. Did you know it could lightening and thunder for snow? It was a pretty decent downpour and it keeps coming. We had to cancel our plans to go to Portland for a few days to have early Christmas with the Portland peeps. Now for those of you in the midwest or east, who deal with this every day, let me explain a few things about Seattle. First, this doesn't happen that often. Second we have big hills. Third, because we are so "green" the city does not salt the roads, they plow main roads and sand but no salt. Therefore the snow falls, people don't know how to drive in it, and it slushes around then freezes to solid ice. Fun huh? Alex takes the bus to work so he has been able to get in..although I am thinking tomorrow will be an ice block so a "work at home day" might be in order. They have pre-empted all TV shows to do "weather watch" news for 8 hours straight. Oh well I need to clean anyway. Here are a few pics from our house and of our adventure walk to greenlake. Lily was pretty unimpressed, although she did giggle a little. She has taken to true belly laughs and high pitch screams....for Winston only!! Nice huh? We get a few courtesy laughs here and there but nothing like the dog gets out of her.
Winsty guards the house from Frosty the snowman.
Down at the lake. Lots of walkers who didn't make it to work or school.
Braving the snow. So beautiful. Lily's cheeks were super rosy!
Winsty tries to catch a snowflake in his mouth. He is so clever. He actually LOVED the snow and would have walked/played all day.
He saves some snow in his ears and paws to melt in the house. He actually tried to chew the snowballs out of his paws! Silly pup. He is now curled up on the couch as I sip my pumpkin spice coffee and baby sleeps!
Lily tries to do her first snow angel.
Winter is beautiful...oh wait, it is still Fall for one more day.

Santa is Chinese!!

We took Lily to see Santa downtown this week. We went to the one near where Alex works so he could come over on his lunch break and see. The Nordstroms (flagship store) has Santa in the front window. She did good and was happy to sit on his lap. She told him what she wants and Mrs. Claus gave her a candy cane. We are all pretty confident she is on the nice list. I guess Chinese Santa's have white fluffy beards as well. Do you think the Chinese kids mind we borrowed him?

HO! HO! HO! Merry Christmas to you all!! Lily and Mommy are going to Portland this week with Cousin Meagan to see Owen and Charlie for an early Christmas!! Yippeee!!

Lily is 5 months!

Time is FLYING by!! She is such a big girl. She is learning her voice, translation, she is learning to scream! Real fun when you are in public. Here are a few video clips. She is also eating now! Rice cereal, carrots and now pears. Such a good life isn't it? She did get her hands on a candy cane (a prop for Christmas photos) but the wrapper ruined her first taste of the good stuff! She has also reached a milestone that makes us very happy, she is sleeping through the night! We are gearing up for the holidays and our trip to England.

We had a busy and fun filled Thanksgiving holiday. My mom arrived on Tuesday in time for the Lill party. On Thanksgiving morning Joel and Tonya, Owen, Charlie, and Wrigley arrived. Lily was loving having a house full!! She could not get enough and is now bored that is just us again!
Thansgiving Turkey on the Traeger!! Alex did a super job! Delish, I am ready for another we want more left overs.
Lily being entertained by Charlie. They were so good with her, helping give her the pacifier, showing her all the toys, reading her stories and holding her hand. Alex reads a holiday book to all the children, he has such a good reading voice...accent!Sitting down to a yummy meal!!
Poor Wrigley, he was sick all week and ended up having emergency surgery. He swallowed yarn and was very sick!! He is mending now, lucky dog!! No eating yarn!!Friday, Alex went to work and the rest of us played! Our tradition, making a gingerbread house.A good result I think!Saturday Alex and I took all the kids on a Goonies style treasure hunt! Boy was that fun!! Here is the start of the hunt with the map and all the clues.A tunnel on the hunt. Good thing Owen read all the clues well.About half way we stopped for a fruit leather and a break.Lily enjoyed the hike, it sure wore her out!
The end of the hunt....the treasure was found!!Everyone headed home Monday. Below is a video from Sunday after brunch. Tonya does a mean pony ride and Lily loves ponies!!

Lill Party!!!

What is a Lill party you ask? Well, Lill is a purse boutique in Chicago It all started with Hillary coming to work with these fabulous bags that everyone was envious of. We did some research and found out they had reps in some cities that did home parties and thus I agreed to host. We had a great turn out and made some gorgeous bags! They are all custom made and you choose the style of purse and fabric and they are made in Chicago and shipped in about 3 weeks. Here are some photos from the evening.
Jenn the Lill rep, boy did she have a big crowd and lots of work!!
The bags!! How to choose?
The fabrics, even harder to choose!
Creative juices flow.
I love my new purse, can't wait to get it!
I want one of each!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

This should get you all in the mood for Christmas which is just around the corner (or so the mall wants you to think).

ALOHA Peeps!!!

Someone likes her hotel in Maui!! We had a great week, minus the missing suitcase for half the vacation.
This is Lily's first time in a pool. She didn't really know what to make of it.
This is great! I get all mom and dad's attention all day long!!
We took morning walks on the beach while it was cool and their was shade on the beach. We had to be really careful about the sun since you can't put sunscreen on a baby under 6 mos age.Family photo on a beach in Makena.
Lot's of time in the shade!

This is her SPF 50 outfit so she doesn't get burnt. Looks so silly but it works. We had to buy one when we got here because all Lily's clothes were in my suitcase and it was lost for five days. Then the suitcase showed up so we had two!
First dip of the toes in the sand. She liked to watch the waves but was not sure what was going on.
See I can stand!! I am about to walk into the water! Well not really it lasted about 2 seconds. We had a great time and got to see Eric and Rach for a few days at the begining of the trip. We had a nice dinner out in Lahaina for my birthday. It was a great relaxing week together as a family. Next time we go Lily will be able to wear sunscreen and get out a bit more and hopefully catch some waves!!

Trick not treat!!

This is the day I get to wear my owl outfit!! This is the day I get to trick or treat!! This is the day I get to eat candy!!!I am ready for my candy!! Lay it on me!! Chocolates first please!!
What do you mean I am too little to eat candy!! What good is this holiday then? I will just eat my fingers like I always do.
Here we are at the doctors. I am four months old and weigh 13 lbs 4 oz and 23 1/2 inches long. I am very healthy except for my poor blocked tear duct that makes my eye all gloopy, and my incessant drooling has caused a bit of trouble for my skin on my chest and neck. I love the doctors office because they have a big mirror behind the exam table and I can look at myself and roll over. Too bad the visit ended with the big trick!! Three shots! I took it like a champ, but they still didn't give me candy!!

Fall Day-Z!!!

Look at me!!! I am helping mom carve the pumpkin. We carved dad's pumpkin and then I climbed in!! Well, mom put me in here but I didn't mind. I actually liked it. I even had my pumpkin jammies on!!
When are they going to start feeding me already? I am four months old and all I get is milk. I am just going to start tasting everything until I find something I like. This doesn't taste very good!! Now it is getting very boring, even Winsty is so bored he is falling asleep sitting up!!
What!! You say this pumpkin is not organic!! Ugh!!!
Now I have rabies and am foaming at the mouth!! See what pumpkin eating can do to you?
Well, this is the finished product. Bet dad is glad he was at work and missed the whole experience. He did not want to carve pumpkins this year. I guess he got the memo that they don't taste good raw so what is the point?
Let's go to the lake for a walk instead. There are so many leaves I just can't get enough of them!
Do leaves taste good? No they don't. I sure am cute though!!
I can't wait for Friday when I will finally get my hands on some candy!! I have heard that stuff is really edible!! I will just have to figure out how to get through the wrapper!! I have my four month check up on Friday as well so I might not be in the trick or treat mood after my shots!! I need to perk up over the weekend because we are going to Maui on Monday!! Hip Hip Hooray!!
