We flew this past Memorial weekend to Madison to visit our good friends Kristen, Nate and Charlotte. This was the first time Lily and Charlotte got to meet. We all had a great time, the weather was beautiful and we enjoyed some good food! Friday morning we headed to the Madison zoo. The girls had fun riding together in the wagon.
The bears we a big hit. At least you are close enough and they were moving around so Lily could actually see them. I think she thought they were big dogs.

That evening we all went out for dinner. Lily wants to be on the move and since she needs our help that means we get to walk hunched over. Can't wait for her to do it on her own so our backs recover.
The best part of the day! Bath fun together. Slippery little suckers!
Saturday morning we headed to the Capitol for the farmers market. It is a happening place with lots of great fruit, veg, baked goods and ....
Cheese curds! Boy do they squeak!
That afternoon Nate stayed home while the girls napped and we did a drive by at Hillary's soon to be new home. We peeked in the windows and the grouchy owner nearly shoo'd us away!
That evening it was a great Madison treat to go to brat fest! Here are all the volunteers on their grills. They hold the worlds record for most brats consumed in one weekend, or something like that.
No complaints from us. We did our part to reach the goal.
Ah the love between two new friends. So what if it was a forced hug and they had no idea what was going on. They got along really well and Charlotte was so good at sharing all her toys.
Smiling, happy people.
Sunday we headed an hour drive north to Lake Wisconsin. Nate's folks have a house on the lake and were kind enough to invite us all up for the night. They have a great place with a pontoon boat. It was gorgeous out and we had a blast.
Relaxing in the adirondack chairs....uh "A" chairs to us.
We geared up the kiddos for a ride on the boat. Somebody was very excited! Was it the boat ride or the elmo life jacket?
Charlotte did great with Grandma and Nate. She is going to have a great summer up at the lake.
Lily took to it well. Although the lake air got her so relaxed she snoozed the second half of the trip.
Back at the house we tried out Charlotte's slide.
What a great trip! We are coming back soon.
Thanks Kristen, Nate and Charlotte for a super weekend! We can't wait to see you again!
