The Fourth of July snuck up on us this year coming so close after our Hawaii vacation. It was mid-week as well which did not make anyone happy with having to go to work the next morning.
It was a HOT HOT day so we all met up at Goppy's for a pool party and BBQ.
Everyone came decked out in their finest 'Merica colors. Well, maybe Grandpa Dan doesn't have any red or blue, he sticks with camo and aloha attire.
The cousins kicked things off with party bags from Goppy before getting in the pool.
The giant swan is still going strong 3 years later! Just as fun as ever.
Ben and Gwyn have been hitting the swim lessons hard this summer and it is paying off.
So much for the swan, her head is suffering a bit.

Grandpa Dan brought his Dad's jeep over to take everyone for rides around the neighborhood.
They took off quick before the nurse came outside and realized there were no seatbelts.
We could hear them hooting and hollering from several streets over.
Everyone worked up an appetite and Uncle E did a good job on the grill with burgers and dogs Ben wins for most patriotic meal.
The kids table after they were covered in tattoo's and flags.
The potluck was such a success with all the best food.
We had birthday dessert to celebrate Lily turning 10 since we were away for her birthday. I made a icebox cake with chocolate cookies and whipped cream in the shape of 10. We topped it with tons of different chocolate treats.
Everybody sang happy birthday.
Love these cousins.

Making her wish.
She even got gifts from cousins and Nini & Papa.
Then we went right into sparklers. Who needs it to be dark?
They were doing them two at a time.

We decided to move to the front yard to do some more fireworks in the street.
These are just those gross snakes. I remember loving these as a kid.
Then it was time for the bigger guns to come out.

Plus some more sparklers in between all the big fireworks.

It's a small miracle nobody was seriously injured with all those kids running around with fire sticks.

We all oooohhhed and aaahhhhhhheeed at the show.

You can see this is Eric's favorite holiday.
