Spring Break- Palm Desert

Well, we didn't really have plans for the kids Spring Break, but sadly after Winston passed away a couple weeks before we needed to get away and just have some chill time.

We booked a couple last minute nights at a Hyatt in Palm Desert with several pools that have water slides. We had no other agenda than to swim and relax.

We arrived in a toasty 95 degree afternoon and the girls swam while our room was being readied. A couple of cute new suits for Easter.
Each pool area had different slides and layouts. Our room was a one bedroom condo with a full kitchen so we could bring some food and have a couple meals easy. Gemma LOVES VACATIONS!!

Not a bad view to wake up to on your first morning. We overlooked this pool area and spent the first full day here.
After a nourishing breakfast of course.

There was a full agenda. Swim, slide, read, chill, eat, repeat.
Lily finished her book and then promptly stole mine!!

Mid afternoon I went up to the room to make some smoothies.
Our second full day we wanted to go to the other pool area with a slide. They had an onsite starbucks too.
Gem is our water baby. She was in the pool non stop. She just goes off and makes friends or watches other people on the slide.
Until its time to order nachos of course.
And more smoothies. I think mine were better.
Night time was watching TV in bed or texting your friends.
It was nice to get away and just relax without an agenda or chores. They were waiting patiently back at home.

Easter Sunday

Easter morning always starts with an early rise for......church......or Easter Baskets. Yes we must see what the bunny has brought.
This time it was bath products, new swimsuits, and treats of course.
Lily is the only peep fan in the house.
We celebrated Easter with our Cuzzies at Goppy's fancy new digs.
We brought in lunch and sat outside her patio. It was perfect weather and so nice to relax together.
You have to eat first to have energy to hunt for easter eggs.
That is the main agenda. Luckily the resident dogs weren't out fighting us for chocolate filled eggs.
It was quite the haul.

Most of the eggs had candy but a few had some cold hard cash!
You deserve to have a cupcake after all the hard work.

There are also chocolate treats if that's more your speed.
And because we never remember to take family pics we had to manage after we got home.

Turns out nobody likes to pose.

One long arm reach for a family selfie!

Bunny Fun

Gemma and I often go visit Goppy on Tuesdays after Gem gets out of school early.

We got lucky one afternoon on our visit. They were having a petting zoo bring bunnies to visit.

They were the sweetest things. We got to pet them and Gem got to hold them.

It was very hard not to want to adopt a Bunny.

We also got motivated on the weekend to color some Easter eggs.

It has been a couple of years since we did this.

We’re much faster now and less messy.

Perfect for deviled eggs.

We also made some cupcakes to bring for dessert on Easter.
They were white cake with buttercream frosting to look like grass. Then some caramel chocolate eggs to hide in the grass.
