Fall - ing for Disneyland

Since school was out the day after Gem's birthday for Yom Kippur we decided to take a family day to Disneyland. It was a celebration of 3/4 of our Fall birthdays and we haven't been to LA Disneyland in years. Waiting for rope drop was a big crowd. Lily wore her ears from Tokyo and Gem had ears from when she went for Liv's birthday.
We headed straight for the Star Wars land. It is new and we hadn't been there before.
We used our fast passes as much as possible to get through the long lines.
The rides were cool and it was really like you were in Star Wars when you walk around the land.
We're not very big star wars fans but it was really cool still.
We really wanted to go on Haunted Mansion while it is decorated for  Halloween. It is all decorated like Nightmare before Christmas. It was really cool.
Pirates of the Carribbean is always on our top list.
We were able to ride a lot of the rides even though it still felt really crowded. Matterhorn is a classic. So is Pinocchio.
We had to go on plenty of the little kid rides in Fantasy land of course.
We even ran into the Maribel character from Encanto.
While waiting in lines we kept busy taking silly pictures with the Disney filters.
We even saw R2D2!!
You can have your picture with BB8 and the millenium falcon.

The girls wanted to try their hand at pulling the sword out of the stone. We weren't magically able to do it though.

Seeing everything all decorated for Halloween is so much fun. I want to come every Fall and Christmas just for the decor.

We caught a glimpse of the parades while we were heading to go on rides. Elsa is still a popular one.

I guess we weren't magical enough to get genie out of the Aladdin lamp.

We stayed as late as our weary selves could manage. Having gotten up at 5am to get there for opening and knowing we had school the next morning I think we left around 9:30PM.
Disneyland never disappoints!!!

Gemma turns 13!

Sweet Gemma turns THIRTEEN! She is officially a teen! We sponsored a shout out on her school sign.

She bought herself a pass to Magic Mountain with her birthday money from Goppy. She and Liv went to the park for the day to ride all the huge roller coasters.

Her birthday was on a Sunday this year. Plenty of time for pancake breakfast.

A facetime with Granny and Grampy.
Lots of great gifts.
Her favorite perfume sol de janeiro.
Big hits for sephora gift cards.
The ultimate teen birthday gift is a STANLEY water bottle.
Don't forget the Nike pros from Granny and Grampy.
During the day Gem had a "date" to the mall with her new boyfriend Reid. They made matching build a bears and named them Barbie and Ken.
Gem requested an ice box cake with all the yummy toppings.
We took the party to Goppy's patio and had Toppers pizza and gifts with the cousins.
It was a great birthday!

Homecoming

Home coming weekend began with the classic Friday night football game.
The band was warmed up and ready to perform.

It's the most crowded this stadium ever gets. Our Football team is on a big losing streak season.
It was extra exciting because Anna and Adam were on the Sophomore Homecoming court.
At the end of the half time show they popped these streamer shooters into the crowd. Even though we lost it was still a lot of fun. The band still WINS every time they perform.
Then Saturday night is the Homecoming Dance at the High School. Lily was initially thinking she didn't want to go. Her group of band friends all go together and so they influenced her to come too. They all went dress shopping at the mall and then all got ready together at Sienna's house.
Such a beautiful group of girls!

Sydney is the drum minor for the season and is definitely the social coordinator.
Maddy, Sienna, Aidan, Sydney, Lyla and Lily.

The dance was a glow/neon theme this year. So they wore glow sticks for the dark dance in the gyn.
They had a photo booth that emails you the pictures.
All the band kids found each other at the dance and hung out. Lily said it was a good time. Aidan is a senior and she drove them all to the dance in her mini van! They went to in n out after the dance along with probably the entire student body!!
