For Spring break we made a trip across the pond to the UK to see Granny and Grampy!
We're pretty much experts at these flights now. Everyone tried to get a nap in and plenty of movies too.We ordered up some sunshine for our arrival. Funny enough it was going to be a rainy stormy weekend back home over Easter weekend and we brought sunshine to the UK.
We got settled in at Pear Tree Cottage 2.0 and after a good night rest we were up to have a walk around the village. Well, Lily might have been sleeping still. She has a part time job sleeping in these days.
We took the scenic way to visit the butchers and pick up the lamb for Easter supper.
It was really hard to beat jet lag when there are so many cozy spots to cuddle up and nap.
Easter morning we woke up to all kinds of treats! The girls got easter bags and also giant chocolate bunnies.
I got some delicious treats too! My favorite percy pig gummies!
The hilarious joke of the weekend was poor Grampy's Easter egg had been hidden a little too well and it couldn't be located on Easter. He was very keen to see if Lily was going to share.
Gemma was pretty happy and Granny got a homemade Japanese apron so she looked extra bright and cheery for spring.
We had seen the fields of sheep and lamb on the way home from the airport so we wanted to go have a closer look at them. It seems a little bit rude since we were having lamb for supper. We drove around a few local villages and couldn't help but stop to appreciate the hand crocheted decorations a village had on their post box.
Many villages have changed their old phone booths into little free libraries. It is such a great idea!
We found our field of sheep and lambs. They were curious as to what we were doing coming by to say hello.
It was muddy from all the recent rain and we didn't have any wellies.
After our drive we came back home and decided to have an afternoon drink at the pub. All the village blooms look so fresh and bright!
Even though it was a sunny spring it was still very brisk!
