Halloween

Halloween this year was a little up in the air until the very end. Gemma's school friends had all decided to be characters from the movie Inside Out 2. Gemma got "volun-told" to be Joy.

Honestly she lucked out because I think she is the best character! Gemma looked spot on!

They all wore their costumes to school for the day. The school hosted a "Trunk or Treat" in the parking lot. The parents decorate their car trunk and the kids go around and collect candy. 

She even made the school Instagram reel for the event! A super star!

The middle school went last but that is ok, most parents are getting rid of their candy and give you extra!

That evening Lily had her friend Savannah over and her sister. They wanted to go trick or treating too. Lily pulled out her trusty skeleton onesie and some cat ears. We dropped them off in the Lang Ranch neighborhood for an hour or so. It was packed over there. Lots of houses decorated too. 

Gemma decided to go with her school friend group to a fancy gated neighborhood that goes all out for Halloween. They went to a house that decorated as Beetlejuice theme first. 

There were nine girls in total. It is all the girls from 7th and 8th grade. They are all on the volleyball team too and have been so much fun for her to get to know. 

Brooklyn's mom hosted that evening and they all rode together in a couple cars. She even took  individual photos of the girls and put together this "Movie Poster". It was so cool.  After trick or treating she went over to Liv's house to see that group and then sleep over for the night. 

Gemma's 14th Birthday

Gemma decided for the big 14th Birthday she wanted to have a friends party and also a dinner at home with family and cake. She chose her cake design from a pinterest picture. 

 

It came out really cute and really close to the inspiration pic. She did a lot of the decorating herself too!

It was chocolate cake with a cheesecake filling and vanilla buttercream frosting. 

Liv joined us for her family dinner on Saturday along with Granny and Grampy. We had her menu choice of grilled Tri-Tip steak, Asparagus and Twice baked Potatoes.

Her Birthday party was held the Sunday before her birthday at the local ice skating rink. She had her new school friends and Liv. They all had a really good time. After skating for about and hour and a half they had a party room set up for food. 

They served pizza and we brought snacks to go with it. Taki chips, ghost chips, candy and fruit. Plus they had chocolate cake as well. It is never too much cake when it's your birthday. 

On her birthday morning she got to open up some gifts. She asked for a vanity mirror for her room. She also got some beauty products and head bands. Her friends got her more beauty products, gift cards, a hoodie, and Brandy Melville clothes. All her favorite things. 

She wanted a German pancake for her birthday breakfast!
